Taverne in the Towne Presentation - Richmond Public Library
When:
The Richmond Public Library is proud to host the second presentation in its new History Wall series, “There’s a Taverne in the Towne,” on Thursday, May 8th at 7:00 p.m. Join RPL volunteers Bob and Jan Weekes, Dick Drew, Ronna Rajaniemi and Walden Whitham as they bring us back to the Colonial Period when local taverns were the focal point of town get-togethers. The story contains many surprises. You will learn about taverns in Richmond and surrounding Cheshire County, see a display of authentic tavern artifacts, hear from a 200 year old traveler to a still-standing Richmond tavern, and hear a live performance of tavern songs while sampling authentic tavern food and (non-alcoholic) beverages. We invite you to see our new display case for historic and archival items, as well as our recently renovated “History Wall.” Come celebrate with us as the RPL once again brings “Richmond’s Past . . . Into the Present.”
